I want to preach a gospel that is rooted in life-changing liberation...
I want to preach a gospel that is rooted in life-changing liberation, that unveils the boundless beauty of God and looses indescribable joy in God’s gorgeous creation! A gospel that boldly proclaims that God’s presence and power can break through the impenetrable, intimidate the haughty, and uplift the lowly. I want to preach a gospel that is accessible, authoritative, and honest. That speaks to the souls of ordinary people, empowers them to do extraordinary things in obedience to an awesome-all-loving-incredible-compassionate-merciful God.
When I write…
I want to write words and share stories that evoke meaningful life reflection and conjure imagination. I want to inspire, uplift, encourage education. I want to create worlds that feel like home, full of love, hope, and peace. I want to challenge the unjust systems that so often deplete. I want to welcome the truth in and show deceit the door. When I write I want to demand change, envision a future worth fighting for; I want hope to have the floor.
When I preach…
I am a minister of God, called to preach, gifted to write, and commissioned to journey through this life with those seeking God’s face. I am here to nurture, support, challenge, critique, and point to grace. Sometimes a companion, sometimes a teacher, sometimes a listener, always a sojourner in this race. And along the way, I tend to the hurting, cheer for the climbing, and pray for words that would encourage us all.
As a creative…
I relish in the arts and culture. I sing songs to praise and empower. I dance to celebrate and set free. I love home and making it feel good to everyone who visits me. I love art and am pretty good at making spaces beautiful. That said, I have bags and will travel as I enjoy seeing new places and faces. I deeply value community, family, and all those entrusted to my care. I love learning and laughing and the sound of good music in the air. I am a homegirl, a sister, cousin, niece, daughter, lover, and friend to people who are always there. I am richly blessed.
In whatever I make of my life, I hope to please God, and make my ancestors proud.
I want to be authentically me, make a difference, and live life out loud.
