The Biggest Lie About Rest Keeping You Tired

Can I tell you the biggest lie I used to believe about rest?

👉🏾“I’ll rest when everything is done.”

LIES! Hahahaha. I had to laugh as I wrote that because of how ridiculously untrue it actually is. But somehow, I believed it for years. Maybe you have too?

Here’s why I know you cannot rest when everything is done:

Because everything is NEVER done!

NEVER!

There will always be more to do, more people to take care of, more responsibilities pulling at you. For example, this morning I got up early and started washing clothes. And though I washed an endless amount of our clothes (I stopped counting after 5 loads), folded every garment, and put everything away (CLAP FOR ME. I am SO PROUD!)…

I still have my pajamas on that will no doubt go into the hamper when I get dressed for the day. And later today my family and I will come home with dirty clothes that also need washing. Not to mention a few blankets and sheets that probably need to go in next. Oh and there’s the dishwasher that needs unloading… the email I need to respond to, and the work assignments I need make progress on….. See what I mean???? It NEVER FREAKING stops.

But that doesn’t mean YOU shouldn’t.

God’s design for you is a restful life. Rest isn’t a reward—it’s a necessity. (My God, I could shout on that word alone!) You need rest. Period.

That’s why Jesus Himself often stepped away to pray, recharge, and rest. He wasn’t being lazy. He was modeling what a sustainable, abundant life actually looks like.

So if you’ve been waiting for permission to pause—this is it.

Start small. Start now. And let me help! 👇🏾👇🏾 Check details in the P.S. below!
