Welcome one and all to the spiritual resources section of my website. It’s a little something I put together, just for you, participants of the Virtual Women’s Conference. I am grateful to have been invited to share with you all. In our sessions we will discuss all my favorite spiritual disciplines and encourage you to try them out. Being a woman of Christian faith is such an incredible, dynamic, constantly evolving journey. Sometimes it’s hard. Some times not as much. But it is always worth. Moreover, our faith tradition has so many rich resources that help us live out our spirituality. Spirituality is something that has to be not only expressed but, practiced. It requires intentionality. Our growth doesn’t just happen, it emerges as we lean into the spiritual practices that God has given us, as we trust God to produce fruit in the process!  Read below to explore some of the resources that are highlighted in our sessions.

Breath Prayer

During our first session of the Virtual Women’s Conference we ended with Breath Prayer. It’s such a simple, beautiful form of prayer, but also so very honest in that, quite powerful. It asks a simple question: What do you want Jesus to do for you? And it allows you to ask God directly for that thing. Here are the instructions.

The Power of Taking Sabbath

Have you ever considered taking a Sabbath?  A real Sabbath. Would you even know what that looks like? Women often are wearing many hats and the idea of taking a rest sounds like the most unattainable thing ever. But what if I told you, you were not designed to run on all cylinders all the time? What if I told you that you are not built to keep working when you are already running on empty? More importantly, what if I told you that Sabbath was not simply a command from God, but that it was also God’s gift to you.  You don’t have to be running around so crazy. God has given you permission to take a break!  Here are some resources that will help you learn how to do just that…

Resources for Sabbath

Professor Walter Bruegemann, a revered Old Testament Professor Emeritus (Columbia Theological Seminary) provides an INCREDIBLE teaching on Sabbath. Please find the teaching in 3 parts (video on YouTube) below:
